Julian Velard

Why T&S Likes him » He may look young, but his voice is like your favorite broken-in leather jacket. You’ll know what we mean when you hear it. His lyrics are just sharp, like a well dressed Englishman, except that his last name is French. Did we mention he did some time in Paris as a street sweeper? Well, Julian, we’re glad you’re making music full-time now: we’re sure you’re better at pressing keys on the piano than at operating the street-sweeper-machiner-thingamajig. In French.

The Official Word » “It’s a weird brand of classic, psych as in psychiatric, Piano pop, (no guitars allowed folks), 2006 cum 1979 style Rock and Roll.”

about indie.soulful

Every now and then truth & soul uncovers amazing music. We wanted a special way to share it with you, so we created indie.soulful.

Our featured musicians usually:

  • are independent
  • are local to Boston
  • & got a whole lotta soul

Not all features will necessarily fit all three points mentioned above, and sometimes we may even throw something at you from left field. In the end, though, we just wanna spread the beautiful music in our hearts.*
